I don't think uniforms are changing. I read the FAQ and apparently your house is identifiable by the cover of your planner.
Are we getting badges then? Or just the planners?
I'm sure us students will have to design the planners too!
Another competetion then.
"The badges or any other modification of the school uniform should be designed by the students. Again competitions could be run as part of this process."
It says we can design the badge, why not planner?
I understand the reasons for the planner to have signs of houses on them, but why do we need badges? Surely that just means that we'll be seperated by our houses outside lessons? Seeing as the house thing is more to do with lessons and points given out, shouldn't our uniforms be left as they are? You'll be able to see whose house people are in by their planners, and it mostly matters to teachers. We should leave the uniforms as they are so that there's no confusion. The badges are just a bit....hogwartsish?
Hi Emma
The uniform will stay almost entirely the same - the only alteration would be a smalll badge. It is important that a clear house identity is in place for each student so that House points can be given to students and if issues arise in lessons or around school, that people know which Director of Learning/Head of House to go to. Each House will also quickly establish a sense of pride and identity that will mean the badges are a welcome addition to their uniform. Selby students wear different ties but this idea was rejected by your school council. You will not be seperated outside of class by the badges - you will mix however you please despite displaying your different house identities.
What if we lose the badges?
i think that really we should be able to draw on our planners and cusotmise us as they are supposed to be our planners (OUR) and a mark of our individuality so why aren't we allowed to "customise" them....this should really change next year
new uniforms would be cool, but i think we should get diferent colours for each year, cos i still wanna have a black jumper :> btw, this conversation is really funny
I understand why you shouldn't draw on your planners but I do like the idea of customizing them! Could we have our own factfile or plain pages we can decorate as well as the usual planner?
what's the point of ordering the planners already when the name isn't even decided yet? surely it needs to indicate which house we belong in.
Hi Annie
The planners have to be ordered by the 13th March every year to be prepared for a September. Each house will have a different design but we aren't able to consider any student designs this year - something to consider for next.
The designs on the planners will have no effect on the names of the houses.
Heyy,
As for the house names on the new planners, you have a space to write your name and form, so that might mean that there will be an extra space for the name of your house.
Jordy!
great! I like it as it is :)
So we will have a personalised planner, anything else to show what house we are in?
Yes it dose mean we don't have diffrent uniforms. I asked Mr Bodey and he said, The diffrent house "logos" will be given out for free and will have to be sewed on. These will later be permently attached.

I would love a more colourful uniform, But that might distract students in class, If we could have new uniforms I would love the following:
Red Or Purple sweatshirt
Black polo shirt
The trousers we have already,
And thats my suggestion,

A more coulourful uniform would distract? I really don't think that's going to happen. You just phase these things out after a while. Let's face it, nobody likes their school uniform.
I liked mine... in fact there were several reasons why I didn't mind wearing school uniform, one of them was it was easy to maintain and didn't involve wearing a tie!
(I really should learn how to do that at some point! )

I think colour would be great
I think that we should have different colour sweatshirts for each house!
